5/9/09: We're happy to report
The New US-23 Drive-In Theater is now open for business!
The new management have done an amazing job of renovating the old theater
in a short period of time. With new paint throughout, new box offices, a third
screen on the way, and a beautifully restored marquee, the 23 looks to have a very bright future.

4/17/09: The 2009 Drive-in Season is finally here!
The Capri and Getty are now open, and the
Ford-Wyoming 1-5 is open 7 days again. And, some very good news in
these troubled times, word is the US-23 has been leased for five years!
More opening dates will be
posted on the Open Drive-Ins page when they are announced.
The overhaul of Michigandriveins.com has progressed considerably. All of the individual drive-in
pages, except for Northern Michigan and the U.P., are now online. All of the history and comments
on these pages have been restored, with the photo galleries to come back online next. Also, there
are now index pages for drive-ins organized by counties and owners/circuits.

3/29/09: Along with many page updates and a slight
tweaking of the page layouts, we have some amazing new photos of three
West Michigan drive-in theaters! The three drive-ins are the
Plainfield and Vista in Grand Rapids, and the
Starlight in Saugatuck. Many thanks to "Randomroadside" at
Flickr for sharing these with
us. There are also new sections gradually coming online for
individual Michigan counties and drive-ins circuits.

3/4/09: Hot on the heels of the news of Lou
Warrington's untimely passing, and the likely closure of his US-23 Drive-In, we have been informed that the
Miracle Twin has closed, presumably forever.
No reason was given by it's owners, but it's painfully obvious why it closed.

 |
2/22/09: We have very sad news to report, the drive-in
world has lost a legend. Long time US-23 Twin owner Lou Warrington passed away
on February 18th, 2009. Our condolences to the Warrington family.
The 23 will reportedly be open for one more season as a tribute to Lou. Find out more at the
Ozoner
Drive-In Forum.

2/1/09: The restoration of Michigandriveins.com
slowly continues. The lastest drive-in pages to be completed are the Algiers,
Cascade, Bel-Air (Detroit),
and Northside. The complete list of drive-ins now online is located on
the Index page. There's much more to come in 2009!

 |
1/11/09: On a more positive note, Happy New Year and check out the new 2009 Drive-In Theater Calendars
on the Drive-In Store page! There is of course the brand new Michigandriveins.com calendar,
and a "AmeriCanadian" calendar as well, featuring US and Canadian drive-ins. Also, the Drive-Ins in Movies page is back online now.
