Update:Hi, well here are the pictures of "what's left of the Northland Drive In", Petoskey Mich. I got these items when they were tearing down the place and putting up what has become the boat/ storage facility. At the time it looked exactly like the photos that are posted on your site. Passes, tickets, cups, intermission film footage, equipment, and paperwork, strewn all over the place. In fact you can see some of the items lying on the floor of the previously posted interior photo. I used a scope camera to take the current pics of the saved film footage; this may be why they look a little dark around the edges.
Some interesting side notes:
* The free pass has the Northland located at Walloon Lake MI instead of Petoskey. This is not entirely untrue, as the
location was closer to the lake of Walloon than to the town of Petoskey.
* A small piece of the Northland property was for sale the summer of 2003. Off to the edge of the property the old
entry gate still lay, mangled and bent.
* Check the exterior photos, in its glory the Northland had a large indoor viewing window, along with an outdoor
snack patio beside it.
* Opened in 1953, it had pony rides, and children's play area that had remnants to the end.
* About the Mid Seventies the Northland added an AM radio broadcast to their sound system. They continued
with both window speakers and radio.
