This is one of the first
neon Dog 'n Suds signs made.
It was originally located in Dunkirk, IN.
The sign was an art class project which the founders of Dog 'n Suds conducted. Unfortunately, The Disney
company, as the story goes, took offense in that the 'Rover' image on this sign too closely resembled their 'Pluto'
character, which was their property. Hence, the subsequent signs were changed to the style that flies
over the Montague store, with the red background and the modified 'Rover' logo.
The sign is owned by David Hosticka who has it for sale on
eBay in July, 2006.

The Dog ’n Suds Drive-In, located in Montague, Michigan, is family owned and operated. The location was founded by a Montague school teacher in
1963 who ran the Drive-In in the summer months. It was purchased by the current family in the fall of 1965, and re-opened in the Spring of 1966.
In our second generation of management, the facility was totally rebuilt during the winter of 2000-2001. In its current configuration, the Drive-In is
open each summer from April thru September. It has been featured in many calendars, magazine articles, and even appeared on The Today Show.
For many years, this Dog ‘n Suds has been the sole surviving location in the state of Michigan. The survival of this Drive-In is thanks to its
steady management, dedicated staff, commitment to quality, and to its loyal customers.
